Bobby Hutcherson was a jazz legend. The master jazz vibraphonist and bandleader died on Monday in his home in Montara, CA following a long struggle with emphysema. He was 75.

He was born in L.A. in 1941, and since then, made his name in early '60s New York, pioneering the vibraphone's use in jazz with an original four-mallet technique. RIP

Respect to the master & one of my percussion heroes in jazz music the great Bobby Hutcherson. #Rip #BobbyHutcherson
