The Manchester-based duo of Gavin Miller and Thomas Ragsdale make up Ghosting Season, born from the fecund ashes of former project worriedaboutsatan that initially brought them to the fore.

For our 38th edition of Plastic Platform the electronica pairing have crafted a quite frankly brilliant little mix that reflects the output of their work astutely; assimilating a vast coterie of mostly techno-inspired sounds whilst remaning on a very much forward thinking edge. We're treated to a few other eclectic oddities in the shape of a Hyperdub intro from The Spaceape to even a bit of Larry Heard - Gavin himself describes the mix best below. Download it now and get absorbed, and try not to loose all of your shit when Holly Herndon gets mixed in.

I guess it's a bit of a weird one, because we're both really into industrial stuff at the moment, so a lot of old, brittle proto-techno stuff from the 70s and 80s, and we found a lot of influence from that in some of the more heads down techno coming out at the moment. Stuff like Hound Scales, Holly Herndon and Powell are very different, but you can tell it comes from the same page aesthetically as they probably all have the same records we've been listening to!

We always like to throw in a few curveballs too, so we thought we'd add some Haitian vodou chanting, a Larry Heard house classic, a talk from John Cage and a beautiful outro from our friend Lucy Claire, who makes really amazing string quartet music.
