Sheffield-based producer Stewart Green has a knack for fashioning captivating 'post-whatever' electronica under his alias of Carnivals.

So much so that when we nominated him in our Blog 6 Music feature for The Artist Most Likely To Induce A State Of Vibe Like Euphori-coma he won pretty convincingly (in a rather strong line-up may we add). Off the back of this it seemed like a smart idea to ask him to create a Plastic Platform mix for us and has duly obliged, that features many salient contemporary electronica numbers from recent times. Also included is 'Contrails' from Carnivals' Humility EP that you very much should listen to here - only after you've downloaded the below of course.

Here's a selection of tracks that have inspired me whilst I've been working on a forthcoming release. Plenty of skittish beats and vivid vocal manipulation but most notably I’ve gone for tracks with interesting structure. Perhaps the theme should be change, since I’ve relocated three times in the last year. The tracks unpredictable-ness and unusual forms can relate to that. A sort-of homage to the uncertainty but unforeseen opportunity of new things.
