October finally saw the spell of summer well and truly smashed, discarded and replaced by the expected rain and cold here in the UK. Thankfully as always there were plenty of great new tunes to help us through the transitional period. Unexpected returns from the likes of Desire certainly helped, while art pop favourites like Julia Holter delivered more goods, and scrappy newcomers like Beach Riot still channeled that sunyn energy to keep us motivated.

We've got all our picks from October collected together here on Spotify, and our Track Of The Day picks for the entirety of 2018 can be found in this playlist. Look below to go to our write ups for each of the Track Of The Day picks for October.
