You might not be familiar with Era Istrefi but in her home country of Kosovo, she's already a superstar. The rising singer/songwriter has already racked up a number of hit singles after choosing to step away from the traditional sounds of her country and incorporate more mainstream sounds and elements into her music. However, it was her most recent single 'Bonbon' that earned her widespread international attention thanks to various comparisons to the likes of Sia and Rihanna on social media.

The original clip soon went viral and after inking a new deal with Ultra Music (and later a deal with Columbia Records in the UK), 'Bonbon' was re-recorded and re-released to English-speaking countries and radio stations. Put simply, 'Bonbon' looks set to be one of 2016's biggest success stories. The video has since racked up over 100 million views on YouTube.

With new found fame and success, Istrefi has spent time in London and LA recording new material with the likes of Fred Ball ("We vibrate the same; we have the same level of thinking in terms of music,") and Two Inch Punch, as confirmed in her brief interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, who made the Post Malone remix of 'Bonbon' his 'World Record' for July 20. A full remix package including the Post Malone remix is expected to be released this week on all digital platforms.
