Peckham-based duo, Mount Kimbie are causing a ruckus with their futuristic take on intelligently crafted electronica. Dominic Maker and Kai Campos first two EPs caused a commotion when released in 2009, undergoing reworks from the likes of Faulty dl, SCB (Scuba's darker techno alias) and guest collaborator James Blake. With their own remixes (Foals and The xx) becoming hot property, Mount Kimbie has become an integral component of London's minimal electronic circuit. Drawing influences from dubstep to post rock, the band's sound is highly unique. Radical and unbound by etiquette and genre codes, they float through hip-hop, to jazz and 2-step painting cinematic landscapes with awe and splendour. They return to London for a homecoming show this Thursday at Soho's marvelous Heaven, with Sampha and Creep supporting. Doors: 7pm
