Prince's band the Revolution formed in 1979 and played alongside the late great Purple One during many of his most renowned recordings, like Purple Rain and 1999. Now, in an announcement posted to Facebook, members Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Matt Fink, Brown Mark and Bobby Z have announced that they will reunite for live shows without but certainly for their bandleader.

"We have decided, after spending three or four days together now grieving over the loss of Prince, that we would like to come out and do some shows," said Melvoin. The announcement did not include any immediate tour dates as of yet.
