Things have gotten pretty messy between Prince's estate and Roc Nation. And now the Purple One's people are suing Jay Z's label for copyright infringement over Tidal's recent claim that they have exclusive streaming rights to Prince's music.

Tidal was reportedly only granted a 90-day period of streaming exclusivity for Prince's 2015 album HITNRUN Phase One. And NPG Records has claimed that there was no other agreements with Tidal. They believe the streaming service "is exploiting many copyrighted Prince works," especially since they've done things like add 15 new Prince albums to the service, without even reaching out to his estate after his death.

Roc Nation has responded with a petition claiming there were "various agreements" between the company and Prince, which were "both oral and written" including one where Prince granted them exclusive streaming rights to his entire catalog. Messy.
