Psychologist's 'When Particles Collide' starts as pure fantasy, with the imagined sounds of police sirens beating down rain and synth soaked streets. But Iain Woods quickly throws the house lights on and bails out of his cinematic opening; he flicks the projector off, and digs his heels in with a deep piano line that trails behind a vivacious drum beat.

He sings with a messy vocal style, letting his voice emanate as a mumble sounding as if he's trying to balance a million other things, but it strengthens as he goes, exploding at the chorus and riding along as a light hum everywhere else. Everything about this track feels real, and it certainly isn't just some fantasy born from a false illusion in light.
