The idea of a split single is nothing new and even last year’s "Feistodon" release between Feist and Mastodon for Record Store Day 2012 showed what could be done when completely differing styles collide.

Now though Pulled Apart By Horses guitarist James Brown has taken the idea further set up Covered Records, an imprint on Transgressive Records, the idea being to release a series of 7" singles where bands cover each other's songs.

The first release features Pulled Apart By Horses attacking 'Heartsink' by touring partners and close friends Blood Red Shoes, whilst on the flip side Blood Red Shoes cover the Horses 'Get Off My Ghost Train'. The 7" will be available from March 11th with the two tracks available digitally from April 11th.
