Following Miley Cyrus' performance on Sunday at the VMAs, which turned the Barclays Center into a post-Disney nightmare with giant pink teddybears and a lot of uncomfortable twerking (at least for the audience), Queens of Stone Age have announced they'll be attempting to reclaim it for rock’n’roll with a smashing performance, their first ever headline appearance at the arena.

"On December 14 Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center will be designated as a (relatively) twerk-free-zone as QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE will play its debut headline engagement at the arena, restricting teddy bears to the merch table and returning guitars, drums and other such live instruments to the Barclays stage" read the band's press release, a direct reference to Cyrus' racy spectacle.

The December date will close their US tour. Tickets pre-sale begins today at 10 am local time.
