Update: According to a representative for Kelly (via Pitchfork), it was Kelly that performed on stage that evening. We'll never doubt you again.

R&B musician R. Kelly has angered fans after allegedly sending an impersonator to perform in his place at a concert in Los Angeles this weekend - or at least that’s what the promoters say.

"We was scammed because 10 o'clock we was there, no R. Kelly. 11 o'clock no R. Kelly, 12 o'clock no R. Kelly, 12:45 no R. Kelly. 1 o'clock here comes an impersonator," says one of the attendees, while other adds "the advertisement online through Ticketmaster said that it was a Ced's All Black Affair and R. Kelly performing live which did not happen last night."

According to KNOE.com, the event promoter Cedric Johnson claims he was 'duped' and that he would be refunding half of the concertgoers’ money – however, commenters on KNOE's website say he knew all along he wasn't hiring the real R Kelly.

R Kelly’s twelfth studio album, Black Panties, is due out this December.
