Considering how streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, Beats Music, and Rdio have been hailed as "changing the music discovery game", according to the infographic above, not too much has really been altered.

Data collected by Edison Research and Triton Digital revealed that 35% of Americans above the age of 12 still use the radio to discover new music (because apparently they play new music on the radio and not just 'Dark Horse' five times an hour? Who knew!) and 21% rely on word of mouth via their friends and family to find hot new bands. 10% turn to YouTube for their new music needs. However, in an interesting turn of events, for individuals 12 - 24 years old they mainly turn to YouTube to discover new tunes - 83% of them, in fact.
