Good news, Rdio fans: you've got a bunch of new features to try out.

The New Features

So what new features have Rdio implemented then? First up is a new take on the home screen that concisely compiles your musical activities in the form of 'stories'. Stories may be created due to a gig you've been to, what your friends have been listening to and loads more. It's a social dashboard from which you will then find 'your new favourite act'. Rdio are keen to point out that there will be more story algorithms created in the future to make sure that your dashboard is the lead tastemaker in your life. Like really, who needs NME any more?

Trending and favouriting allows you to store and find the new tracks and artists who are making waves in the music world. Playlists that are finding a following will appear here and be accessible by all, or if you fancy it, only from people you know.

"We are in the very early days of the era of streaming music and there is a huge opportunity to bring this remarkable experience to people around the world" - Anthony Bay, CEO of Rdio.

Free rdio for all

For all Europeans, Rdio's incredible music stations are now free for the first time to all mobiles users, which will showcase music from a catalogue of over 30 millions songs. It's a huge step for Rdio and one that may tempt a few away from Spotify.
