With Reading/Leeds Festival nearly upon us, we asked Yorkshire's finest Pulled Apart by Horses to recommend some bands to see throughout the weekend.

The fourpiece have been bestowed with the honour of opening the festival - catch them on Friday at 12pm on the Main Stage for Leeds, and Sunday at noon at Reading. Shake off those hangovers and get into the arena early.

Marmozets - BBC Introducing Stage

We've had the pleasure of playing a few festivals with these guys and I think they're one of the most exciting new bands around. Those dudes (and dudette) can play their arses off.

Hawk Eyes - BBC Introducing Stage

Leeds based lads with a new album that has been abusing one or two or maybe even all our ipods of recent times. These guys deserve to be playing a much bigger stage so this will be a proper treat for all on the little beeb stage. Don't miss them!

Blood Red Shoes - Main Stage

Well you could say we owe these guys one, but in all honesty they really are one of our favourite UK two piece bands. Also the new album 'In Time To Voices' totally proves there is much than meets the eye when it comes to these dudes.

At The Drive-In - NME/Radio 1 Tent

All those rumours flaying around for a couple of years have now become a fine glimmering reality to us all (at last!). This could be the performance of the entire festival and they are a big influence on us guys. We just have to hope we catch them somehow as we play different days!

Trash Talk - Lock Up Stage

I know what you’re thinking, but seriously, just go watch them. You don't have to go up to the front or stand in the pit. You could even watch the highlights back on the telly (but that would make you a total wuss).

DZ Deathrays

Not only because it will give you an introduction to the riff fest that will commence on our next tour but also because I haven't heard a two piece in a long time that cause so much aural destruction as these guys! It's sexy, it's loud and heavy as hell.... what more do you need?

Eagles of Death Metal

Why? Because it's sexual electrocution that will casually sting you from your ear holes, to your tippy toes. Yet thou shalt be left understanding the true meaning of the word; "Huh!"
