This weeks column resumes normal business....almost...I’m throwing a curve ball and including a book as well as my top five vinyl releases.

First up this week is this Pink Floyd re-issue on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl with original packaging and download. On its release in 1975 'Wish You Were Here' topped the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic. This album contains the classic cut 'shine on you crazy diamond', a tribute to founder member Syd Barrett. Get yours here.

Next up is a young lady who is destined for big things, Lianne La Havas is a UK based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has made a name for herself with a wonderful performance on Jools Holland and a Black Cab Session. ‘Lost and Found’ features a track with Willy Mason and production from Matt Hales and Dan Carey. The 4 track EP is available for pre order now on 10” vinyl here.

Another act tipped to be big in the next 12 months are Dems, the London act will be releasing their EP ‘House’ on vinyl and I think its well worth a purchase. You can see the video for the EP’s title track here.

My fourth choice this week is a real treat, aside from the fact this release is by one of the best bands of the last 3 years, Girls have made their new single ‘Lawrence’ on this HEART SHAPED vinyl. Myself and Oliver, this sites editor, have already ordered ours and you can get yours direct from the bands label, Turnstile.

The final vinyl this week is another EP from another band on the up, 2:54 have just supported The Maccabees and The Big Pink, I was actually at the Maccabees gig the other week and the band impressed me so much that ‘Scarlet’ was a shoe in for this column even before I learned that there is very limited quantity of sky blue vinyl copies which will be distributed at random - the rest are plain black vinyl. Head here to pre-order yours.

Here is the curve ball, Death of the Polaroid by Nicky wire is a photographic biography of the Manic Street Preachers and this deluxe edition is limited to just 50 copies worldwide and includes one of Wire’s own personal Polaroid’s as featured in the book in its own presentation case. Each one is numbered and packaged in cloth with silk ties and is sure to be an investment for the future, you can get yours here.
