Wild is the Wind - Nina Simone: There's a realness and rawness to Simone that so many other artists lack, her version of Wild is the Wind is the first song that made me cry.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Lauryn Hill: This album was hugely defining for me in my early teenage years, I hijacked this CD from my parents and it never found it's way back...

Debut - Bjork: I admire how Bjork has continually been able to create her own soundscapes and musical universes, whilst still being accessible to a wider pop audience. Every song on this is a winner.

Cripple Crow - Devendra Banhart: This was one of the first records I ever bought! There is something so authentic and playful about this album, you almost feel like you’re sitting across a fire from Banhart at a festival hearing it live.

Devotion - Beach House: Hauntingly beautiful lo-fi sounds.
