RSW: Cherry Glazerr + Portraits D'Angelo and the Vanguard - Black Messiah : The lyrics on this album are so deliberate and poignant. They have such intention behind them it feels extremely emotional and strong. The music behind them is seriously some of the best playing we've heard in a while. Such great guitar playing!

RSW: Cherry Glazerr + Portraits Grace Jones - Private Life: We love this song so much because it has a vibe that really transports you to some sort of future-city wonderland. It's actually a cover of the Pretenders version. Such a badass song, Grace Jones' tasteful delivery and the new-wave spacey-ness in the song is so delicious and cool! Really weird sounds throughout this song, it just pulls you in! It's so refreshing and unpredictable.

RSW: Cherry Glazerr + PortraitsRadiohead - The Bends : Walking around suburban Orange County listening to ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ on my portable CD player in the early oughts and no song or record ever spoke so perfectly to my sense of adolescent despair and middle class ironic detachment.

RSW: Cherry Glazerr + Portraits System of a Down - Toxicity: What to say about ‘prison song’ except that I can still recite the lyrics from memory and my outrage at America’s industrial prison complex as a 14-year-old white kid from the burbs seemingly knew no bounds.

Check out more photos from the shoot below, along with the video for 'Wasted Nun' (from their latest album, Stuffed & Ready). A massive thanks to Banquet Records for their hospitality.
