Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park

Record Shopping with FINNEASI think this is the first Linkin Park album. This album has so much good shit on it, 'In the End' is on this album, 'Papercut', 'One Step Closer', 'Crawling'. Look at this hair dye, incredible. Album artwork is also a really important component to records, I don’t know whose idea it was to film a flag bearer with dragonfly wings, but I think it was Mike Shinoda’s. When Chester Bennington died last year I was like “that’s the saddest shit”, that was a real childhood funeral.

Harry Potter Original Motion Picture Soundtracks I - V

Record Shopping with FINNEASThis shit is the best. I think the third one is the best soundtrack.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - The Complete Recordings

Record Shopping with FINNEASI’m a ridiculous Lord of the Rings fan. This whole thing is sick, wow this is just the second one, it’s crazy. There’s some great music on here.

Suspiria: Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film - Thom Yorke

Record Shopping with FINNEASI haven’t listened to the whole thing yet. The first song I heard from this which was 'Suspirium' is really beautiful. I love the cover art as well.

I Love You, Honeybear - Father John Misty

Record Shopping with FINNEASI love this album. I listened to this in 2015, the end of that year, and he had such a crazy sense of humour on this record, so much of what he was saying was ironic, self-conscious, and self-aware. I hadn’t heard all of that stuff since Randy Newman, people who were making jokes in their music. I just love his writing, interesting chord structures, I really admire his music a lot. And a really interesting artwork, it has nothing to do with anything but it’s pretty sick.

Demon Days - Gorillaz

Record Shopping with FINNEASI love the Gorillaz. When I was writing 'Let’s Fall In Love for the Night' I was listening to so much of this record and all of Danger Mouse. I love the whole aesthetic choice of this record, the sound is so sick. This was an early record for me, when I started listening to music, this was one of my first records.

Animal - Kesha

Record Shopping with FINNEASThis album made me want to make pop music. I felt like she could say anything and it’d be like “Cool, okay, she said that”, do you know what I mean? She does some fucked up, weird, super crass shit and I’m just like “Yeah!”.

doo-wops and hooligans - Bruno Mars

Record Shopping with FINNEASThis is just one of those albums that’s just unbelievable. 'Grenade', 'Just the Way You Are', both are incredible, 'Marry You' is incredible. I tweeted a couple weeks ago something to the effect of “Every morning I wake up and look in the mirror and I’m still not Bruno Mars”. He’s just the coolest motherfucker ever. He’s so cool, makes such good music, and seems so talented and nice. I wish niceness wasn’t a quality that seemed rare to me, but he just seems like a really good dude. And this album cover is really good to look at, how rough it is, I didn’t know his outline was spotty. It’s great that he’s wearing his hat too.

Morning After - dvsn

Record Shopping with FINNEASI’ve never listened to this record but I like this artwork so much that I’m going to look it up and I’m going to listen to this.

Suck It And See - Arctic Monkeys

Record Shopping with FINNEASTragically underrated Arctic Monkeys album. This was the first one I ever got into. I must have heard 'R U Mine?' first, when it was a single, and then the album that they’d put out most recently was Suck it and See and there’s so much good shit on this record. The actual song 'Suck it and See': is great, 'She’s Thunderstorms' is great, 'Black Treacle' is great, 'The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala'… I love this record. It’s crooner-y, nobody liked it, but I loved it.

Watch the Throne - Jay-Z and Kanye West

Record Shopping with FINNEASThis is one of my favourite albums. Watch the Throne was, to me, one of the more ambitious, futuristic hip-hop records I’ve heard in a minute. There are some beats on it and some lyrics that are so inspiring to me. The last 45 seconds of 'Ni**as In Paris' where he’s saying “you’re not watching the throne”, the beat under that is just so interesting. They use TV static, I remember thinking that was so sick.
