'Continental,' the new single from Sydney-based tropical pop trio Retiree is quite literally, the sound of water lapping in a Venice canal. No seriously, swirling synth flourishes, languid wistful vocals and strutting drum machine funk notwithstanding, it literally features a field recording of a Venice canal!

"'Continental' features a field recording of water lapping in a Venice canal," writes the band. "It's not about brexit. It is about selfie sticks, love, photo albums and tourism. The song was written in a Venice hotel room, recorded in Berlin and Sydney, and mixed and mastered in Melbourne."

Following on from their last two EPs, 'Continental' reasserts Retiree's reputation for coming through with the sort of club heaters you can repurpose for midweek headphone reflection on your commute home.
