In today's Yeezus update - which, in case you've been living under a rock for the last four weeks, is the new album from Kanye West which drops next Tuesday - producer Rick Rubin has been talking to The Wall Street Journal about the record, and some particularly interesting bits have surfaced, like how Rubin thought he was hearing the finished album, but ended up listening to 'three hours of partially finished pieces' - and that was three weeks ago.

When asked about West's new sound, Rubin said that the artist 'was always examining what we could take out instead of put in.' This minimalistic direction would sure fit in with the (lack of) cover art - and we only have to wait four more days to hear it.
