On Sunday, August 28th, MTV will air its annual Video Music Awards ceremony. While the rest of the awards will not be announced until the night of the event, the network has already announced that Rihanna will be presented with the night's highest achievement: the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Rihanna was already set to attend the ceremony anyway, as she earned four nominations for her video 'Work' featuring Drake and 'This Is What You Came For' with Calvin Harris. Previously, she has won two Video of the Year awards for 2007's 'Umbrella' and 2012's 'We Found Love'.

The ceremony begins at 9 p.m. EST and will be hosted at New York City's Madison Square Garden. She is expected to earn the award near the end of the ceremony.
