Basheba has all the makings of a future soul star. A hearty, soul-rich voice backed by largely '90s-inspired productions and sublime lyrics, it'd be hard not see why she's already been earmarked as one to watch by various publications and tastemakers.

For 2016, Basheba is upping the ante and breaking the rules with Axiom ("a self-evident truth that requires no proof") - a three-part project comprised of three EP released in succession throughout the year. The first part is set for release this coming Friday (April 22) and The 405 is excited to premiere 'Wait For Me' from Axiom Part I.

'Wait For Me' sees Basheba head in a slightly different musical direction, taking on a more '60s soul-inspired sound with strong pop sensibilities, and also acts as a strong indicator to the direction of the remainder of the EP. "The Team Salut production guys sent me the instrumental track and I instantly loved it," Basheba told us of the track via email. "I listened to it before I went to sleep and woke up half way through the night singing the hook. I saw the guys the next day and sang the hook, they loved it! It felt like it was meant to be."

Axiom Part I is released this Friday, April 22 via her own Y.O.B Records and is available to pre-order on iTunes.
