Following the release of debut album Hope Downs last summer, Austrlia's Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are proving their continued prolificness with the release of a new 7" 'In The Capital'/'Read My Mind' due for release on April 26th. However, the a-side 'In The Capital' is online now. Talking about the new song, Fran Keaney says:

"I first had the idea for the melody and some of the lyrics when I was swimming. It’s taken a while to finish the song, to make it feel like the initial feeling. I can’t neatly describe it, but something like connection despite distance. I was thinking about transience and water and death and big cities and fishing towns and moon river."

As ever, the kinetic nature of RBCF's loping rock style is intact, and absolutely aids in capturing the multitude of images that Keaney had in mind. Less testy than a lot of their previous output, 'In The Capital' captures a weary-yet-excited spirit, willing to push ahead in life in order to try to reach those moments of pure pleasure, to taste all of its endless delights.
