Rostam Batmanglij, one of the principle members of Vampire Weekend since the band formed in 2006, has announced he has officially left the group.

Batmanglij formally announced the news on Twitter about his exit, stating that he is no longer a member of the group but will continue collaborating with the band and frontman Ezra Koenig for future projects.

The news comes less than two weeks after Batmanglij debuted his newest solo single 'EOS', which is one of the many solo projects members of Vampire Weekend have revealed in recent months. Last fall, member Chris Baio debuted his solo full-length album The Names.

'EOS' is available for digital download today and will be released on 7" soon via XL Recordings.
