Rough Trade is finally opening its first UK store outside of London.

The shop is set to open this autumn in Nottingham's Creative Quarter, with a look modelled on their current stores in London and New York. That's all very exciting, but the most interesting aspect of the story involves another company. The legendary shop has bought a majority stake in Rise Mise - who own shops in Bristol, Worcester and Cheltenham.

With their expansion to Nottingham being "the first of many", this move could prove vital.

"Rough Trade defines the past, present and future of music retail like no other brand, so I’m delighted to be joining Rough Trade during this incredibly exciting period, helping bring their much loved and respected form of music retail to cities across the UK, starting with Nottingham," says Rise Music representative Lawrence Montgomery.

We wish them all the best!
