Rough Trade are branching out to the City of Light.

While speaking at Pigalle festival MaMA last week, the CEO of French bank Lazard Mathieu Pigasse revealed he is in talks with Rough Trade to open a Paris branch of the shop.

This is only the tip of the iceberg, though: the Paris-based Rough Trade shop is supposed to be a part of a major project that will ideally integrate several assets from Pigasse's company Les Nouvelles Édition Indépendantes, which include French magazine LesInrocks, Radio Nova, and Vice, along with a bar/restaurant and a concert venue.

No further information regarding a date and location have been unveiled as of yet, but Pigasse has made it clear that he intends to "move into the space between retail [Rough Trade] and exposing talent by investing in the production and distribution of music."
