London's S.C.U.M. has a debut full-length due out on Mute Records this September. To tide us over until then, the band has enlisted Purity Ring to remix album cut 'Summon the Sound. S.C.U.M.'s original version of the song is a dark, wailing, psychedelic-tinged post-punk scorcher. Purity Ring's remix maintains much of the original's angst in it's treatment of the vocals and ominous tom-tom driven change-up halfway through, but they also add some tropically inflected keyboard melodies and 90's Rn'B rhythms, replete with finger snaps, to glorious effect.
