The follow-up to 'Heather' and the heralding single for Saint Etienne's latest album, Home Counties, 'Magpie Eyes' is a summer breeze of a pop whirl, which has now been given an accompanying video.

With footage first appearing in the backdrop visuals for the trio's recent live dates (which included a packed Royal Festival Hall gig), director Tash Tung filmed the promo in Stevenage and came up with the idea of an imagined younger Bob, Pete and Sarah spending a typical day hanging out in record shops and cafes. She says: "It was so much fun to make a music video for Saint Etienne, a band who I grew up with and who have a long history of interesting promos".

Fun-fact fans may be interested to know that the actress playing young Sarah Cracknell in the video is the director's friend, Eve Mahoney, who also happens to be the niece of long-term Saint Etienne photographer, Joe Dilworth (Dilworth gets a famous mention in the band's fan-favourite 1993 track, 'Mario's Café').

Saint Etienne play one more UK date at Green Man Festival on 20th of August before embarking on a US tour in September and October.

Magpie Eyes is out now, as is its parent album, Home Counties.
