Mercury Music Prize nominee and folk singer-songwriter Sam Lee has announced his third album, Old Wow, due for release on January 31, 2020 via Cooking Vinyl. Recorded at RAK Studios and Studio 355 with Bernard Butler's (Suede, MacAlmont & Butler) on production duties, Old Wow pushes Sam’s music into a further remarkable folk territory and features Cocteau Twins’ legendary frontwoman Elizabeth Frazer with her spine-tingling vocals, multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Sheldrake, spoken-word poet Dizraeli and The Gloaming’s Caoimhin O Raghallaigh.

Devoted to the natural world, Sam Lee’s new album is a commitment to it and has for long dominated his principles. The title came to him during a journey in Scotland, when a buzzard swooped down the mountainside and screamed overhead. With a diverse row of talented musicians on his side, Sam Lee reinterprets American spirituals, Romany Gypsy songs and traditional English standards in the age of the climate crisis.
