A couple of years after the release of her terrific last record, Zero Gravity State of Mind, Norway's queen of clever-pop, Sandra Kolstad, is back with a brand new single and the first taster from a forthcoming album, which will be her fourth.

'Mango Corner' has the quintessential Sandra Kolstad feel of quirk-meets-hook and harnesses the Nordic singer-songwriter's rich voice (which is often reminiscent of fellow Scandinavian, Amanda Bergman's timbre) in a fruity collaboration with Miss Tati, another one of Norway's current bright talents. Miss Tati takes charge of the second verse before both voices meet for a pre-chorus discourse and a return to the song's core, "Meet me in a corner / on a mango corner".

Kolstad has described the song as being about utopias: "In a way it is as much a place as a song", she says. Mango Corner is a place where there is no war, no lies, just truth from all the corners of our eyes. The track was produced by Yngve Sætre, with whom Kolstad worked on the last LP.

Following a recent performance at by:Larm Festival in her homeland, Kolstad will launch the single with a show at Ja Ja Ja in Berlin next week.

'Mango Corner' is out now. Sandra Kolstad plays Ja Ja Ja Berlin on 12 April and tickets are available here.
