Sasha Siem has announced she'll be releasing her new album this summer.

Bird Burning follows her debut LP Most of the Boys, which was released last year, and is due out on June 17th via Blue Plum Records. The new album is previewed by 'Crow', which you can stream below.

By connecting with her Northern Scandinavian ancestry through the discovery of the Sami people's culture, she began exploring their approach to music: "The Sami don't sing songs about things or people or places; they invoke them," she explains. "So they sing a bird, rather than about or to a bird. That was a total shift in what music making was about for me, and Bird Burning is the result of that transformation."

Bird Burning is comprised of five tracks, with its vinyl edition containing a remix of the entire album by electronic artist Rabit on the B-side. It will also be available on CD and digital formats.
