For someone who no longer walks amongst us on this planet, Arthur Russell has had a hugely prolific last 12 months.

First came the tribute album from late last year consisting of covers with many contemporary acts titled Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell, with June seeing the release of another posthumous album titled Corn - featuring unreleased recordings from 1982-1983.

To make the perfect hat-trick (of album, cover, and live), a special one-off live performance featuring the music of Russell is taking place in association with Visions Festival. The unique show at Hackney's Oval Space on 10 August is directed by Peter Gordon - Gordon and Russell having met in New York City in 1975 and remaining collaborators until Russell's death in 1992. This unique night will consist of "Russell's original ensemble original and photographs by Yuko Nonomura, projected during the 1975/78 performances."

Your main Visions ticket won't cover this showcase - and can be bought here for £21.50. Tickets for Visions itself, taking place on August 8th, are currently still available as well for the reasonable price of £30.
