A NeoGAF user recently asked Nintendo of America if there was a chance of Bayonetta 1 being ported to the Wii U as the latest instalment in the series, Bayonetta 2, is already heading exclusively to the Wii U.

The response from Nintendo was to ask the game's original publisher Sega, which that NeoGAF user did, and here was the response:

Thank you for contacting us.

The second Bayonetta as you well know is being published by Nintendo exclusively for the WiiU. Both games have been developed by Platinum games. That said, the decision on which version to purchase is really up to you. The games are exactly the same except the WiiU version has a two player mode and the Bayonetta character has different hair and her costume is different.

If those additional features are not important to you, then by all means don't hesitate to pick up the PS3 or Xbox version.

Good Luck and we hope you enjoy whatever version you decide on.

After this post was made, Sega has since responded simply that the statement from that Sega employee is not true.

So ...just a bad day or embittered employee at Sega as they are no longer publishing the series or do you think he was probably telling a somewhat lukewarm truth about what we will get when Bayonetta 2 is released?
