Sigur Rós have announced that they'll be headlining Iceland Airwaves this October/November.

The headline slot will be their first appearance at the festival in 11 years, and it also will be their first hometown show in over 4 years. The band will close the festival with a performance at the new Laugardalshöll Arena on Sunday November 4.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Wednesday May 16 at 12 noon GMT via midi.is, and will be available for 3,900 ISK to anyone holding an Iceland Airwaves ticket.
