Congratulations to Skepta, who has been named the winner of the 2016 Hyundai Mercury Prize. He takes home the trophy for his fourth studio album Konnichiwa, despite being up against huge project's like Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool, Anohni's Hopelessness and David Bowie's Blackstar.

While receiving his award, he thanked his parents and his friends' parents and single-handedly proved that the music industry is going through a dramatic shift. A grime album was just honoured as the best British album of the year. Konnichiwa is the first grime project to be named as such since Dizzee Rascal's 2003 project Boy in da Corner. Huge.
