Sleater-Kinney recently returned with 'Hurry On Home', promising more news to follow soon, and that has arrived today: they will be releasing a new album called The Center Won't Hold, which arrives August 16th through Mom+ Pop.

Along with this news they've shared a new song called 'The Future's Here', which offers up a different side of their work with St. Vincent to the previous single. Sanding down some of the more jagged edges, Sleater-Kinney are in slick form on 'The Future Is Here', with Corin Tucker back on vocals, dreading the future and seeking human connection. As her guitar rears its head in the background, Tucker's voice entwines with Carrie Brownstein's for a foreboding yet resounding chorus: "I need you more than I ever have, because the future's here and we can't go back."

Sleater-Kinney's The Center Won't Hold is out August 16th. They've also announced worldwide tourdates, including a bunch of European stops in February next year, which can be seen here.
