Update: Sleater-Kinney have confirmed they'll be releasing a new album called No Cities to Love on January 19th via Sub Pop (the following day in the U.S.). Watch the lyric video for 'Bury Our Friends'- featuring Miranda July - below.

"We sound possessed on these songs, willing it all - the entire weight of the band and what it means to us - back into existence," says Brownstein of the John Goodmanson-produced album. It's nice to have you back.

Original Story:

There are so many things happening in the Sleater-Kinney world that it's almost overwhelming. First, it was a few tweets from people who had received the band's latest box set Start Together that contained a photo of an unmarked 7" with only the date of 1/20/15 typed on it. What's on that 7" is the band's first new single in 9 years, which Stereogum has reported is titled 'Bury Your Friends'. Stream a preview below that was first posted to Instagram, and later to YouTube.

Things are about to get even more exciting: Wondering Sound has found via Shazam the cover art of what looks like a new album from the band titled No Cities To Love, which you can view after the clip. It needed to be January 20, 2015 like yesterday.
