Legendary shoegaze band Slowdive kicked off their reunion with a string of shows in the UK and Europe, but later on this summer they'll be making the trip across the pond for a run of North American shows. It includes a stop at Chicago's Pitchfork Music Festival as well as a show in Toronto, where the band played their last gig ever in 1994.

In a statement, the band said “North America was good to Slowdive back in the 1990s,” adding “The fact that the last Slowdive concert was performed in Toronto (at Lee’s Palace) in 1994 is poignant. It felt like we were playing to people who ‘got it’ and some if our favourite performances were on those tours. We have a special connection to our audience in North America and we can’t wait to return in 2014!”
