In the last year, Smallpools have had a ton of success following the release of their debut self-titled EP. They just wrapped up a tour with Neon Trees and hit the road with Walk the Moon last fall, and are set to tour with Magic Man and Panama Wedding later this year (all of those dates are listed below). A year is quite a while to go with no new releases at all, though - especially with the dwindling attention span of today's music world - but it was well worth the wait.

They just dropped their newest single 'Killer Whales' in addition to the aforementioned tour announcement, and you'll know straight away why they're one of the hottest new indie-pop bands out there today. Shimmering synths, joyful melodies, and what could easily be the catchiest hook I've heard all year are going to make it your song of the summer.

Oh, and about the seemingly completely random title of the song? It's actually a reference to the film Blackfish. Once people would watch the film, they would often tweet things about how it's not okay to keep killer whales in such small pools, and the title of the song was born. #themoreyouknow
