A great beast is awakening in the forest. The sinister shrubberies of Snapped Ankles have unleashed a video for their latest single 'Jonny Guitar Calling Gosta Berlin' and announced details of their debut album Come Play The Trees.

Directed by Sol Haim, the video for 'Jonny Guitar' is a surrealistic blend of wilderness and violence. Washing machines spin themselves apart and tinned spaghetti is shot in such a way as to resemble brains. Fitting then, for a track inspired by the countryside cannibalism of Jean-Luc Godard's Weekend.

'Jonny Guitar' is the latest single from the mysterious forest devils that make up Snapped Ankles, and has only made us more excited for the imminent arrival of their debut album. With a combination of guitar fuzz, primal rhythms and log synths weaving tales of folklore and flat-pack furniture Come Play The Trees promises to drag electronic music and motorik rock back to its wild roots.
