What the—? But yes: it's true. Lewis Hamilton, UK Formula 1 sensation, is now going to be UK R&B sensation. Apparently he's been writing and recording songs since last year. He's well into it.

So into it, in fact, that he's even been writing music on race weeks, being a fucking don at racing very fast cars as a dayjob and moonlighting as a singer-songwriter. "When I was in Japan, I was in the studio, Monday to Wednesday. Then, Thursday to Sunday, I was racing. Then I was straight back in the studio," he told BBC Radio 1.

"At the moment music is just a hobby, but I'm very serious about it. I built the [home] studio for Nicole [Scherzinger, duh], so she didn’t have to leave the house to go back to LA, and now she can hardly get in because I'm always in it," he added.

Writing partner Angel says he's a "proper singer," also revealing that Hamilton's catalogue of tracks is a real diverse one: "He's got rap — 'dirty south' kind of tunes, some massive pop records and soul records. We're doing all types of genres."

But in all seriousness I wish him the best of luck and whatever cause it's really good and really scary to go all out on your hobbies and ambitions. Good on you, Mr. Lewis.

Meanwhile… It looks as though model Cara Delevingne will be doing some singing as well (but Pharrell will be producing it).
