Who we are:

Songkick is the great live music startup. Every day, we come to work excited to help music fans see their favorite artists on tour. Fans track their favorite artists so they never miss them live, and artists sell more tickets to their concerts. We’re going through a period of explosive growth and need your help. We’re now the second-largest concert site on the web after Ticketmaster, we’re on both iPhone and Android, and we were one of Spotify’s first dozen launch partners for their app platform. We’ve recently launched Detour – crowdfunding for concerts – and it’s already a big success. We’ve been written up in TechCrunch, The New York Times, The Guardian, Billboard, Music Week, and many more. Our investors include Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, SoftTech VC, and other leading investors.

What we’re looking for:

We have an immediate opening for an ambitious Graduate to join us at Songkick HQ, London. We’re in search of someone to work in our community and moderation team for a 2 month paid internship.

You’ll be on the front line helping the music industry and the music fans to get the most out of Songkick. We’re after someone who is driven by problem solving, with a passion for keeping customers happy. We pride ourselves in providing exceptional support for our users, and having accurate and exhaustive concert listings – your role will be crucial to making sure that this high standard is maintained! Alongside this, you will also be working on our new ticket platform assisting our Ticketing Team with the process of managing ticket inventory and communicating with promoters through the duration of on sale periods.

Responsibilities include:

  • helping users through Desk – our customer support portal
  • liaising directly with our contacts at music labels and agencies on a daily basis to help them with their listings and using the site.
  • moderating concerts/festivals, spotting trends in the data and proactively care-taking the most popular events.
  • writing blog posts and contributing to other social media projects
  • assisting with adding/editing ticket inventory within our system
  • helping out at community events
  • occasionally, you’ll get pulled off-project to support other areas of the business including Office Management, Business Development and User Experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Passion for helping people and problem solving
  • Conscientious, with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable navigating the web’s music sites (ideally a Songkick user already)
  • An approachable and friendly communicator both in person, via email and on the phone
  • Reliable, highly-organised and a self-starter
  • Strong interest in live music
  • Familiar with using Macs and Google Docs
  • Interest in startups is preferable

This position is a 2 month paid internship (min. wage), located in our Shoreditch offices. We’ll also cover travel expenses up to £5/day and provide you with breakfast, lunch, snacks and proper coffee. Other perks include weekly 5-a-side football and/or yoga, quarterly team days out and cocktails every Friday!
