SoundCloud is amping up to further restrict DJ mixes that include unlicensed and uncleared material, as reported by Digital Music News. This could wipe out a huge number of mixes on the platform if implemented moving forward. "I don’t think the DJs are going to be happy,” a source close to the platform reportedly told Digital Music News. "Probably piss off a lot of subscribers too."

SoundCloud has a gigantic user base of 185 million (compared to Spotify's 30 million) and has recently launched its subscriber-only platform Go. While major labels are slowly getting on board with the company, they've begun to target DJs and remixers just looking to get their music heard.
