As they prepare to go back on the road to support their latest LP Foil Deer, Speedy Ortiz have announced they'll be opening a "help hotline" for fans who for some reason feel unsafe, or are harassed, at their shows.

Fans are encouraged to text (574) 404-SAFE if they are feeling unsafe at their concerts, with the band explaining that "harassment and intolerance will not be permitted." "I'm hoping we can leverage our privilege as performers to help keep our friends in the crowd safer. We'll see how it goes but I'm optimistic," frontwoman Sadie Dupuis says on Twitter. "And if this hotline help system does seem to work, we hope other bands will set them up too. hint hint ;)"
