Spoon recently posted an image with 'Spoon / R.I.P. / June 10th' written on it, which caused everyone (including us) to get excited about a possible new album. Do you want the good news, or the bad news?

The follow-up to 2010's Transference is titled They Want My Soul, and will be released on August 5th in the US via Loma Vista. That's the bad news because you'll have to wait a whole extra month than previously thought. The good news is that the 'R.I.P' element has nothing to do with the band splitting up, instead it seems to be the date that we'll hear a new track. Head over to NPR for the full info and a few new songs clips ('Knock Knock Knock', 'Inside Out' and 'They Want My Soul').
