LA-based musician Dre Babinski records under the moniker Steady Holiday, and has recently announced a new album called Nobody's Watching, due out on Barsuk on October 5th. This week she has shared a seductive new single 'Who's Gonna Stop Us'.

Steady Holiday's 'Who's Gonna Stop Us' is understated protest music, with plenty of bite despite its seeming placidity. Over skeletal guitars and with a low-lit atmosphere, Babinski takes on the role of morally corrupt personalities scheming about how else they can get more from people; “It’s so easy that I can’t believe they don’t see the plan/ You put the beauty in the front and you control from the back.” In the bridge Babinski makes their position a little more ambiguous: "I used to try to be decent and kind / But time after time I would get eaten alive." Altogether, with the beguiling and intoxicating instrumentation, 'Who's Gonna Stop Us' is the kind of song that will get slip under your skin with ease.
