David Letterman announced last week on the Late Show with David Letterman that he would be retiring after his 22 year stint as the host. There were more speculations than not as to who would be replacing him, and because apparently Tina Fey or Amy Poehler weren't available, it has been announced that Stephen Colbert will be hosting the program in 2015.

Colbert has hosted The Colbert Report since 2005 on Comedy Central playing the role of a Conservative “well-intentioned, poorly informed, high-status idiot” talk show host. Seeing as Letterman is a pretty liberal guy, we're hoping that he keeps the act for his role on the Late Show, but there haven't been any official announcements yet. What we do know, though, is that Colbert has stellar taste in music, which we're sure he will incorporate once he takes over the reins.
