A livestream performance by Vampire Weekend is to be directed by Steve Buscemi, the band's bassist has revealed. Chris Baoi, a distant cousin of the Reservoir Dogs and Boardwalk Empire star, told Rolling Stone that he was "a great director" and that he felt "safe in his hands." The set will be streamed on YouTube/Vevo, from the Roseland Ballroom in New York on April 28th. The performance will feature roughly half of the songs from the group's third album, Modern Vampires of the City, which is due for release on May 14th.

The announcement comes the day after Buscemi's slightly surreal/awkward performance of the band's single 'Diane Young' at New York's Easter bonnet festival.
