If you still aren't acquainted with psych/garage label Howlin Banana Records, you're missing out big time. The Paris-based imprint has already put out a bunch of fine-looking releases this year (including The Madcaps' self-titled LP, a personal favourite), and their latest nouveauté is a 7-track EP by Rennes-based band Baston. Gesture is full of hypnotising corners that surround you in a psych-meets-industrial vibe; the EP is both addictive and potentially influential, for it explores the garage/psych genre through a slightly different prism, launching an interesting precedent for the state of French psych pop.

Speaking of precedents, you should also check the label's free compilation Summer Sampler #2, which is but an amazing journey throughout their most recent collection. You can stream Baston's Gesture below.
